Category: 2008-04-04 09:16:46ANNIHILATOR BiyografiJeff Waters, Annihilator’ı kurma düşüncesiyle Ottawa’dan batıya taşındıktan kısa süre sonra Annihilator, uluslararası metal sahnesine sunulmuş en başarılı ve özgün gruplardan biri haline geldi. Kuruluşundan itibaren geçirdiği kadro değişikliklerine ve bütün albümlerde değişik bir kadroya sahip olmasına rağmen Annihilator başarısından yıllar içinde hiç bir şey kaybetmedi.
Grup 1986’da bir demo projesi olan Phantasmagoria’yı çıkardıktan sonra 1988’de de Allison Hell, ve Word Salad isimli demoları çıkararak prodüksiyon şirketlerinin dikkatini üzerine topladı ve 1989’da ilk albümleri olan ve hala thrash metal dünyasının efsanelerinden biri olarak gösterilen Alice In Hell isimli albümü piyasaya çıkardı.
1990’da grup Never, Neverland albümünü çıkararak tekrar dikkatleri üzerinde topladı ve daha sonralardan bu albüm, Alice In Hell ile beraber Annihilator’ın en iyi albümleri olarak gösterildiler…
90’lı yıllarda grup bir çok vokalist değişimi geçirdi fakat, bunların hiç biri Jeff Waters’ın güçlü ve hızlı thrash soundu görüşünü değiştirmedi ve grup birbirinden gaz albümleri çıkarmaya devam etti. Jeff Waters bu konu hakkında ve kişisel çalışmaları ile ilgili şu yorumu yapmıştır: “bazı sebeplerden dolayı, Annihilator hep bir tek adam projesi gibi kaldı. Tabii ki bu tür değişimlerin üstesinden gelmek ve yeniden grup toparlamak kolay bir iş değil. Fakat bu işin çok daha zevkli yönleri de var. Şarkı yazmak bana kendimi tatildeymişim gibi hissettiriyor. Öte yandan prodüksiyon ve kayıt çok daha zor. Birçok karar vermek zorundasınız ve her detayın üzerinde durmalısınız. Ve tüm bu stüdyo sürecinden sonra artık kulağınız ilk zamanki rahatlığında olmuyor.”
93 yılında, Annihilator, vokale Aaron Randall ve bateriye Mike Mancini’nin geçmesiyle “Set The World On Fire” albümünü çıkardı. Seneler 1994’ü gösterirken ise daha önceki bütün albümlerin kayıtlarında lead ve ritim gitarları ve bas gitarları kendisi çalan Jeff Waters vokali de tekeline aldı ve grup “King Of The Kill”i piyasaya çıkararak hayranlarını bir kez daha sevindirdi.
Özellikle bu albümde şarkıların hızlarının önceki albümlere göre hiç düşük olmaması ve thrash soundunun daha belirgin olması bu albümü birçok Annihilator fanının favorisi yapmıştır.
96 yılı Annihilator severler için çok güzel bir yıl oldu. Grup gene Jeff Waters’ın vokalleriyle süslü ve son derece gaz bir albüm olan “Refresh The Demon” çıktı. Albüm klasik Annihilator soundunu yansıtan bir albüm olmakla beraber gene en iyi Annihilator albümlerinden biridir. Özellikle giriş şarkısı Refresh The Demon ve The Pastor Of Disaster benim kişisel favorilerim. Bu albümün hemen ardından hemen ardından grup 89 ve 90daki kadrolarıyla çıktığı in command turnesinin kayıtlarını piyasaya sürdü: “I Am In Command” bu albümde Alice In Hell ve Never,Neverland albümlerinin vokalistleri Randy Rampage ve Coburn Pharr’ı canlı dinleme şansına sahipsiniz.
Grup daha sonra 97’de Remains, 99’da Criteria For A Black Widow, 2001’de Carnival Diablos, 2002’de Waking The Fury isimli albümleri çıkardı. Criteria For A Black Widow, belki de vokalde Randy Rampage’ın etkisiyle eski Annihilator”u andıran bir çalışma olmakla beraber, Annihilator’un soundu Remains albümüyle beraber bir miktar değişmiş, daha groove bir tarza bürünmüştür. Yine de Annihilator melodik yapısının verdiği güçlü etkiyle hala çok önemli ve tüm thrashçilerin dinlemesi gereken bir grup.
Grup bu sene de One isimli EP’yi ve hemen ardından “All For You”yu piyasaya çıkardı. Eski Annihilator gibi olmasa da thrash dünyasının yaşayan en iyi gitaristlerinden biri olarak görülen yılların usta gitaristi ve grubun beyni Jeff Waters aşkına dinlenmesi gereken bir albüm |
